| Simple Plain Dal (Method): Cook toor dal separately with turmeric, salt and little oil. Chop and keep aside onions, tomato, curry leaves and coriander leaves. In a kadai, heat oil and add to it mustard. When mustard splutters, add one whole red chilli, curry leaves, onions and saute. When the onions turn golden brown, add tomato and saute till the tomato becomes mushy. Add the boiled lentil and allow it to thicken according to your preference. Add chopped coriander leaves to the gravy and the all time favourite dal is ready. Serve with rice, chappathis and pooris (puffed wheat bread fried in oil). |
