Yeh Dil Mange More for the New year!

Vazhakkai Varuval (Method): Slice the raw bananas into thin round slices. Make a paste of the dry masalas (red chilli powder-1/tsp, coriander powder, pepper powder) along with turmeric and salt as required. Apply this to the sliced pieces and allow it to marinate for 5 - 10 minutes.  Deep fry the slices in a pan with little oil. Vazhakkai varuval is a great combination with sambar or rasam sadam (rice)  :)

Masala Macaroni for Breakfast

Simple Plain Dal (Method): Cook toor dal separately with turmeric, salt and little oil. Chop and keep aside onions, tomato, curry leaves and coriander leaves. In a kadai, heat oil and add to it mustard. When mustard splutters, add one whole red chilli, curry leaves, onions and saute. When the onions turn golden brown, add tomato and saute till the tomato becomes mushy. Add the boiled lentil and allow it to thicken according to your preference. Add chopped coriander leaves to the gravy and the all time favourite dal is ready. Serve with rice, chappathis and pooris (puffed wheat bread fried in oil).

Rajma (Red Beans) Curry
